Laos Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia, bordered by five countries i.e. Thailand to the southwest and west, Cambodia to the southeast, Vietnam to the east and, Myanmar and China to the northwest. The motto of Laos is Peace, independence, democracy, unity, and prosperity. Feng Xat Lao is its anthem. The majority of its population is Buddhist and the official language is Lao and French. An elephant is the national animal of Laos. The capital of Laos is Vientiane. Its currency is Lao kip. And, its president is Bounnhang Vorachith of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.
