Since then, Amnesty International has campaigned on a wide range of human rights issues, including the death penalty, torture, arbitrary detention, and the right to freedom of expression. Amnesty International works in over 150 countries and territories around the world. They investigate human rights abuses, lobby governments and other powerful institutions, and campaign to change laws and practices. They also provide practical support to victims of human rights abuses, such as legal assistance and financial help.
