The Marrakesh Agreement, signed on April 15, 1994, concluded the Uruguay Round of trade negotiations and led to the creation of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on January 1, 1995.

The United States has the largest shareholding (around 16.5%) and voting power (around 16.2%) in the World Bank, followed by Japan, China, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

The UN Charter was signed on June 26, 1945, by 50 countries, but it entered into force on October 24, 1945, after ratification by 29 countries.

The President of the UN General Assembly serves a one-year term, with a new president being elected at the start of each session of the General Assembly, which typically begins in September.
