Environmental Chemistry: Atmosphere

Most clouds are formed in the troposphere, the lowest layer of the atmosphere. The troposphere is where most of the Earth’s weather occurs, and it is where the water cycle takes place. The troposphere is heated from the ground, and this heat causes the air to rise. As the air rises, it cools, and this cooling causes water vapor to condense into clouds.
