According to official data, the number of affected districts by floods in Pakistan now stands at 110. This includes 34 in Balochistan, 33 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 16 in Sindh and the rest in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

Manisha Ropeta is the first Hindu woman to become Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Pakistan. She was appointed to the position in July 2022. Ropeta is a graduate of the University of Sindh and has a master’s degree in criminology. She has also served as an assistant superintendent of police in Karachi.

A Pakistan Army Aviation helicopter, which was on flood relief operations, crashed in Lasbela district of Balochistan on 1 August 2022. The helicopter was carrying six people, including Commander 12 Corps Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali, who was supervising the relief operations in the flood-hit province. All six people on board were killed in the crash.

Samina Baig became the first Pakistani woman to climb K2, the second highest mountain in the world, on July 22, 2022. She reached the summit at 6:50 a.m. local time, along with a team of seven other climbers.

According to the 2022 Global Liveability Index, Karachi was ranked 168th out of 173 cities. This means that Karachi was considered to be one of the least livable cities in the world. The index is compiled by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and measures the livability of cities based on a variety of factors, including stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.

Shehroze Kashif became the youngest Pakistani mountaineer to summit Nanga Parbat on July 5, 2022. He was 20 years old at the time. Kashif is a native of Lahore, Pakistan, and has been climbing since he was a child. He has summited several other high-altitude peaks, including Mount Everest and K2.

The Balochistan Assembly has passed an Rs598 billion budget for the next fiscal year without facing any objection from either side of the aisle. The session, which started one hour and 45 minutes behind schedule, was presided over by Deputy Speaker Sardar Babar Khan Musakhail. Balochistan Finance Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran presented 102 demands for the draft in the house one by one. Of all, 60 demands for the draft of over Rs351.2bn belonged to non-development expenditure, while 42 demands for the draft of over Rs246.9bn were for the development programme

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly on June 30, 2022, approved an Rs163.7 billion budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 without any disruption in the absence of the 20-member opposition. AJK Finance Minister Abdul Majid Khan presented one after the other demands for a grant of Rs135.2bn for recurring expenditures and Rs28.5bn for developmental activities in the house presided over by the ruling PTPs Mohammad Rafique Nayyar as a member of the panel of chairmen.
