Prime Minister Imran Khan on 21.12.2020 launched the ‘Billion Tree Honey Initiative’ to increase the production of honey through the plantation of trees. Under this programme, the plantation of trees including Kao, Phulai, Ber, Kikar and other bee flora will be encouraged. A mechanism will be also be provided to support bee flora, improve the quality of honey production, provide livelihoods to beekeepers and sustain the activity through the provision of financial resources, Radio Pakistan reported.

Pakistan Railways is launching a weekly ‘Safari Tourist Train’ from Rawalpindi to Attock Khurd on Feb 14, 2021. The day-trip safari train will pass through the beautiful landscape of potohar consisting of Margalla Hills, Sangjani tunnel, and many minor and major bridges like Chablal Bridge, Haro Bridge, Ghazi Borotha, and Attock Khurd bridges, according to Divisional Superintendent of Pakistan Railways, Munawwar Shah.

Veteran Pakistani film actress Neelo died in hospital on Saturday. She was 81. Neelo was admitted to a private hospital three weeks ago due to some ailments. She was born Cynthia Alexander Fernandes in Bhera city of Sargodha district on June 3, 1940. Neelo is the only Pakistani actress to have worked in a popular Hollywood film, ‘Bhowani Junction’ — starring Ava Gardner and Stewart Granger, which also marked her film debut.

Bilquis Edhi, a Pakistani philanthropist and humanitarian, has been selected as the ‘Person of the Decade’ by Impact Hallmarks. She is the founder and chairwoman of the Bilquis Edhi Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides free healthcare, education, and other social services to the poor and needy in Pakistan. Edhi has dedicated her life to helping others, and her work has had a profound impact on the lives of millions of people.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari inaugurated a ‘Labour City’ here on Monday 18 January, 2021 in Labour Colony. According to sources, 1,024 flats in the city would be given to workers from the Sindh labour department.
