In Civil Servants Act, 1973 ‘selection authority’ means:

the amounts were drawn monthly by a civil servant as pay
the FPSC, a departmental selection board, with which an appointment or promotion, as may be prescribed, is made
deemed to have been made under this Act
a post sanctioned without limit of time
the FPSC, a departmental selection board, with which an appointment or promotion, as may be prescribed, is made  Selection authority means the Federal Public Service Commission, a departmental selection board, departmental selection committee, or other authority or body on the recommendation of, or in consultation with which any appointment or promotion, as may be prescribed, is made.
