Sardar Kalyan Singh Kalyan, a 42-year-old Sikh from Punjab, Pakistan, is the first Sikh citizen of Pakistan to receive a PhD degree. He obtained his PhD degree in Punjabi Language and Literature from the University of the Punjab in Lahore, Pakistan in February 2022. His dissertation was titled “The Philosophy of Humanity in Guru Nanak’s Teachings.”
