Pakistan’s first Hindu woman to be appointed as the assistant commissioner is Dr. Sana Ramchand Gulwani. She is a 27-year-old doctor who cleared the Central Superior Services (CSS) exam in 2020 and joined the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS). She is currently serving as the assistant commissioner of Hassanabdal in Punjab province.

The 8th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was played in February 2023. The tournament was held in Pakistan for the first time since 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The defending champions, Lahore Qalandars, were defeated by Multan Sultans in the final.

Pervez Musharraf breathed his last on 5 Feb 2023, at the age of 79. Pervez Musharraf was a Pakistani four-star general who served as the tenth President of Pakistan from 2001 to 2008. He was born in New Delhi, India in 1943 and joined the Pakistan Army in 1964. He rose through the ranks of the army and eventually became the Chief of Army Staff in 1998. In 1999, he staged a coup d’état and became the President of Pakistan. He was forced to resign in 2008 after facing widespread protests. He lived in self-exile in Dubai since 2016.

Pervez Musharraf, the former military ruler of Pakistan, died in Dubai on February 5, 2023, at the age of 78. He had been suffering from amyloidosis, a rare disease that causes organ damage. Musharraf was born in New Delhi, India, in 1943. He joined the Pakistan Army in 1964 and rose through the ranks to become the country’s president in 1999. He was forced to resign in 2008 after facing widespread protests. Musharraf lived in self-exile in Dubai since 2016. He was diagnosed with amyloidosis in 2018.

The ICC Men`s Cricketer of the Year award is staying in Pakistan. Pakistan captain Babar Azam on January 26, 2023 bagged the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, following speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi in becoming only the second cricketer from the country to win the prestigious award given to the best player across all formats by the International Cricket Council.

Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi was sworn in as the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab on 22 Jan, 2023, hours after the Election Commision of Pakistan (ECP) unanimously decided to appoint him to the post.

The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali on Saturday 21 Jan, 2023, appointed Muhammad Azam Khan as the Caretaker Chief Minister of the Province.

Dr. Usman Anwar is the Current IG of Punjab Police. Appointed on 24th January 2023. The federal government also removed Punjab IGP Amir Zulfiqar and replaced him with Dr Usman Anwar.The centre has asked IGP Amir Zulfiqar to report to the Establishment Division in Islamabad, according to a notification issued in this regard. Dr. Usman Anwar was working for National Highways and Motorway Police.
