Dr. Usman Anwar is the Current IG of Punjab Police. Appointed on 24th January 2023. The federal government also removed Punjab IGP Amir Zulfiqar and replaced him with Dr Usman Anwar.The centre has asked IGP Amir Zulfiqar to report to the Establishment Division in Islamabad, according to a notification issued in this regard. Dr. Usman Anwar was working for National Highways and Motorway Police.

President Arif Alvi on Friday Dec 23 2022 approved the appointment of Advocate Supreme Court Mansoor Usman Awan, as Attorney General for Pakistan. The president also accepted the resignation of Ashtar Ausaf Ali from the post of Attorney General.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on December 13, 2022 performed the groundbreaking of the 306-kilometre Sukkur-Hyderabad section of the M6 motorway, which would mark the completion of the Karachi-Peshawar motorway corridor connecting major cities.
