The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 15 March 2022 adopted by consensus a resolution introduced by Pakistan on behalf of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that proclaims March 15 as International Day to Combat Islamophobia. An UN-adopted resolution was introduced by Pakistan and marks the day when an Australian gunman killed 51 Muslim worshippers and wounded 40 others in the 2019 New Zealand terror attacks.
